Subsurface Thermal Integrity Group JIP Portal STIG JIP Portal

The Subsurface Thermal Industry Group (STIG) Joint Industry Project (JIP) is an initiative launched by a number of Western Canadian in situ thermal recovery operating companies to create a forum in which to:

  • Share best practices, experiences, challenges and ideas related to subsurface thermal integrity, with the intent of improving the collective ability of the Industry to avoid a loss of subsurface thermal integrity, and
  • Possibly developing improved best practices or identifying areas for future work.

The need for such a forum was identified through discussions among thermal Operators held within the Innovation Plus framework of Canada's Oil Sands Innovation Alliance (COSIA). The current phase of the STIG JIP was launched in October 2018 with nine operating companies engaged in thermal recovery applications, with the exchange of information being facilitated by C-FER Technologies.

The Member Access component of this website allows STIG JIP representatives and C-FER Technologies to exchange project information.

If you would like to learn more about this JIP, please contact C-FER Technologies.
